Coming out as a trans guy in high school is tough enough without the ghost of your dad haunting your dreams…

The short version: Dreamers is a queer young adult novel about a trans teen named Leo coming out, falling in love, and being taught to dream-walk by the ghost of his dad. It’s currently available in ebook and paperback, but I’d love for readers who need or prefer audiobooks to be able to access it, too. Whether you’re a fan of the book or just want to support an accessibility project, a trans author, and a talented young voice actor, please consider contributing over on the Kickstarter page. (And definitely check out the rewards page, as there’s some pretty nifty stuff there!)

The longer version: In May of this year, I was finally able to see a dream of mine come true: My trans coming-of-age novel, Dreamers, was officially released into the world. As a trans guy who never knew he was trans back in high school, the writing of this book was hugely therapeutic for me, and it naturally involved putting a lot of my own thoughts, feelings, and experiences into the main character, Leo. This book means a great deal to me, and I’ve been beyond humbled to hear that readers have been connecting with it so deeply.

I have, however, been approached by people both inside and outside of my YouTube and Patreon communities who haven’t been able to read Dreamers due to needing or preferring an audiobook version, and that’s why we’re here.

I want Dreamers to be available to readers regardless of the medium they use to read, so we’re now working to put together an audiobook that will capture the spirit of the book and open it up to a whole new audience.

To bring the book to life, we have the talented Zia Amador (he/him), a millennial transgender Latino voice actor who has very kindly agreed to participate in the project. To cover his fees and fund the project, we’ll need approximately $800, which we’re rounding up to $1000 to cover Kickstarter fees, processing fees, etc.

Whether you’re a fan of the book or just want to support an accessibility project, a trans author, queer young adult lit, and a talented voice actor, please consider contributing so we can get this audiobook made. ❤️

(We’re also offering some pretty neat rewards, so definitely check those out if you need some additional persuasion!)
